Luke 1:46 NKJV
“And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord,”
Luke 1:46 NKJV
Mary was one of the faithful remnants of Israel, who was awaiting the arrival of their Saviour.
She was overwhelmed with gratitude and praise to her God for considering her to carry the Messiah into this world.
We can learn so much from Mary and how she denied herself of her life and took God’s word to heart.
When Mary said, " Let it be done to me according to your word." She had made a choice to follow God and not her own life like other women.
She refused to think like other women, willing to be separated, and alone, and took a risk to be misunderstood and to be punished.
Mary did not take part in magnifying her risk of being rejected, her loss, and her isolation.
Instead, Mary took part in magnifying the Lord and being very grateful for choosing her to be the vessel to carry the Messiah.
Every believer now has the privilege to carry Jesus in us through His Holy Spirit.
God chose us to be His dwelling place. God made us the temple of the Holy Spirit.
What we magnify today reflects our gratitude, our honour, and our worship.
If we magnify God then we are honouring, worshipping, and grateful towards Him.
If we magnify our problems, our feelings, and our sorrows then we are not giving God the praise, honour, and worship that is His.
Just as Mary went through life’s storms yet kept all in her heart and gave praise to the Lord.
Let us not give credit and praise to our mountains and our challenges but let us give God all the praise and glory.
Let us magnify the Lord, and let everything within us praise His holy Name.
Blessings
