And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return.
Hebrews 11:15 NKJV
Here the writer of Hebrews spoke about people of faith who did not see the manifestation in the natural but their faith never wavered. They believed till the end of their lives.
These great men and women of God who did not wavered in their faith, they confessed their citizenship is of heaven, their longing is to dwell with God for eternity.
These faith giants who is mentioned were people just like us. For the writer says if they would have given thoughts to their past, their earthly life, they would have returned to an ordinary life.
Opportunity opens up when we give thought to it, formations of plans starts to be established as we ponder upon it.
Therefore whatever we give thought to is eventually going to shape our lives. It's going to create a passion, desire and a spark of interest.
This is the reason the word of God teaches us to set our minds on the things above. So that we give opportunity for the plans and purposes of God to be established in our lives.
The people of faith were calling to their mind the promises of God that was set for them for eternity before time began.
What are we calling to our mind everyday? What thoughts are forming in our mind? How does our meditation look like?
Important questions that will help is check what we have allowed into our lives and what we should do to redirect our thoughts to fulfill God's plan and purpose.
Let us keep our minds on the things Christ our Lord have set for us. Calling to our minds as the righteousness of God and let Jesus shine through our lives.
