And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

I Thessalonians 1:6 NKJV

Paul commended the believers in Thessalonica for accepting and following the faith in Christ by mimicking the life of Paul, Silas, and Timothy.

Paul and the rest were following the life of Christ and imitating Christ's life for themselves.

They were looking unto Jesus, the way Christ lived His life, how He spoke, how He handled situations, and ministered to the people.

The Thessalonians were actively involved in living out Jesus in the midst of strong religious and cultural persecution.

They suffered socially, physically, mentally, and financially because of their faith in Christ.

But they were filled with joy by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit inside of them generated such joy, peace, and satisfaction that no man can ever give.

In the natural, everything seems to look dark and miserable, but the Thessalonians were reflecting the supernatural life of God and rising above the natural circumstances every day.

This is made possible because they were imitating the apostles and ultimately imitating Christ.

Setting our minds and hearts to imitate Christ and those who follow Christ will cause our knowledge to rise about who we really are in Him.

Therefore, we can walk in the supernatural dimension every day for every assignment that God has prepared.

If we keep pressing on to live just like Jesus, keep doing what He had done, and keep following Him by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, though we may not understand everything right now, we can be assured that everything about Christ produces life.

Let us imitate Christ, put it into practice, look for opportunities to exercise the gifts, and experience the power of God in our lives.
