Haggai 2:9 NKJV
“‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place, I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.””
Haggai 2:9 NKJV
Prophet Haggai prophesied that the glory of God’s temple would be greater than the one Solomon built.
According to the scriptures, Solomon built the temple on Mount Moriah where the angel appeared to David.
It was built on the place where David had a supernatural encounter.
Solomon's temple was known for its beauty and significance, but above the structural beauty is the presence of God, which made it great.
For without God in it, that temple becomes meaningless.
The greater temple is not built by mortar, bricks, silver or gold but by God Himself.
God’s word says that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Greater than Solomon's temple is us, His children.
It looks like anti-climax after hearing about Solomon’s temple, and then we look ourselves in the mirror.
What God has built in us cannot be seen with our natural eyes nor can we understand with our natural mind.
Solomon’s temple was built on a supernatural encounter with an angel but we were built by God Himself through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We may not look like much in the mirror but God’s entire kingdom has been deposited in us.
Jesus Christ, our Lord, is teaching us that the kingdom of God is within us.
Solomon’s temple, even in its glorious state, cannot perform a single miracle.
It cannot cause the blind to see, cast out devils or raise the dead.
But the living temple of Christ has been manifesting miracles, signs and wonders.
There are things within us as God’s temple that our eyes have not seen, our ears have not heard, nor has it entered our mind the marvellous things of God.
It is an adventure for every believer of Christ to discover as we follow Him.
Let us shine His glory as we look past the natural mirror and into God’s image and likeness.
Blessings
