II Corinthians 5:19 NKJV
that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
II Corinthians 5:19 NKJV
This powerful word reveals the work of God our Father Who has established in each one of us through His Son Jesus Christ. God reconciled us to HIMSELF.
Reconciling in Greek is "katallasso," which means change or exchange. This means Christ has changed us from children of darkness to children of Light, from being citizens of the earth to citizens of heaven.
God has changed us from a natural being born of the flesh to a supernatural being just like Him and born of the Spirit.
The greatest part of this passage is that we have been changed from the image of mankind to the very image of God and filled with His likeness.
Now in Christ, as a Spirit being, as children of the living God, we have become ministers of the same reconciliation. Reconciling the world to Jesus.
It is not just about being forgiven, healed, and provided for, but it is far bigger, greater than all of that. We are called to be just like Christ on this earth, healing others, saving lives, and establishing the Kingdom of God.
In Christ, we carry in our mouths the word that changes lives, heals the brokenhearted, and becomes the miracle of God for many people.
This may look impossible for a human being to live like that. Yes, it is true, but we are no longer just human; we have been changed into the light and salt of the earth to shine God's glory and reveal the truth.
Let us take up this life that we have received and start implementing it by first changing our minds and our words according to who we have become in Christ.
Live in the blessings,
Ps Ambrose
