Joshua 8:18 NKJV

Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Stretch out the spear that is in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand.” And Joshua stretched out the spear that was in his hand toward the city.

Joshua 8:18 NKJV

God told Joshua to stretch out the spear that was in his hand towards Ai. What really was Joshua stretching out was his faith in God and the spear in his hand speaks of the truth of God's word that he had meditated day and night.

The word of God is a double-edged sword. Joshua put his faith in God and His word. He marched and did what God told him to do.

The enemy was defeated because Joshua held the word of God in his life. Joshua did what the Lord commanded and what was in his heart and it was executed in his life.

What do we have in our hands? What do we have in our hearts? And are we executing all that God has revealed to us?

It is important for us to know God and have His word planted in our hearts and those words need to be at our hands to execute them in every area of our lives.

We need to put every double-edged sword of God in every area of our lives. We need to use the weapon of God to pull down every stronghold and establish the kingdom of God that is within us.

Joshua stretched his hand towards his enemy and won the battle that day. We too should stretch our hands to stand strong in Christ who has won every battle that will come our way.

Let not the word of God stay idle in our lives.

Let the word of God begin to stir, change and motivate us to progress every day in Christ, our Lord.

Blessings
