Philippians 4:11 NKJV

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

Philippians 4:11 NKJV

As we face the new year, there are many goals we have set to achieve and dreams we want to fulfil.

Paul talks about contentment as an attitude and a mindset.

In contentment, we keep living God calling regardless of what circumstances we are in.

Paul is not against having big goals and dreams but the purpose of having them is important.

Having a purpose for life and dreams is not a problem but when the purpose and dreams start to have us then it becomes unhealthy.

We are called to be content by aligning ourselves with God's word and not with what's going on in our life. God does not want us to be contented with sickness or be contented with unforgiveness.

The ultimate focus is to be content with God who is all that we need to live life in this world.

This is because when we are content with God and His promises then we will face the world with His power and His grace.

To be content also means to be able to detach ourselves from the influence of the world and bring the influence of God into every situation around us.

Like Joseph after going through rejection to slavery, from accusations to imprisonment, yet he was contented with knowing God is on His side.

We are to be at peace in the storms that come our way because the One who is greater than the greatest storm is living inside of us.

Jesus the Healer, Deliverer, way Maker, Saviour and the Almighty God is in us and for us therefore who can be against us.

Let us live a contented life through Christ as we face 2022.

Blessings
