Isaiah 28:24, NKJV
Does the plowman keep plowing all day to sow? Does he keep turning his soil and breaking the clods
Isaiah 28:24, NKJV
This passage paints a picture of a farmer's process. A farmer doesn't just till the ground all year round. He starts by clearing the land, removing unwanted substances, tilling the ground, breaking up lumps of clay to soften the soil, and then planting. The farmer's crop yield depends on his diligence throughout the entire process.
God is teaching us that we need to grow in knowledge and understanding, building upon precepts and principles and line upon line. We can't expect a great harvest if we skip essential steps or jump around.
The good news for believers in Christ Jesus is that our Father in heaven is the gardener. We can be assured that our soil has the capacity to produce a 100-fold crop. Jesus, the vine, lives in us and knows what it takes to produce fruitfulness.
If we align ourselves with Jesus in our soul and body, we can see our full capacity for fruitfulness. This requires building ourselves up in Him, line upon line and precept upon precept.
The Word of God says that we are God's field. Do we take time to build ourselves as a new creation in Christ? Do we surrender the old and take on the new that God has prepared? These are essential steps for us to be fruitful and multiply, as God commanded.
Let's be diligent in building ourselves up in Christ and transforming from the old to the new creation.
Blessings,
