Mark 5:8, NKJV
For He said to him, 'Come out of the man, unclean spirit!
Mark 5:8, NKJV
Jesus is the ultimate model for our lives. His life, teachings and obedience to the Father in Heaven provide a blueprint for us to follow.
Christ's mission was to redeem mankind and to demonstrate to us how to live a life pleasing to God.
As fully God, Jesus emptied Himself of His glory and became human, just like us. As a man, Jesus received the Holy Spirit and partook in the divine nature.
As the sinless, perfect sacrifice, Jesus redeemed mankind. Notably, Jesus didn't pray for healing, didn't pray to cast out demons or raise the dead. Instead, He spoke with authority, commanding healing, deliverance, and resurrection.
Jesus didn't provide a list of reasons why God should heal or raise someone; He simply spoke the word.
The centurion recognized Jesus' authority and asked Him to simply speak the word to heal his servant.
As believers, we have God's Holy Spirit living within us. We need to follow Jesus' example and exercise our God-given authority.
Jesus taught us to speak to our mountains, not just pray about them (Mark 11:23).
Often, our prayers become lists of complaints, as if we haven't received any power from God. Instead, we should speak to our mountains, commanding them to be removed. We should speak to our sicknesses, commanding them to leave, and to evil spirits, commanding them to be cast out in Jesus' Name.
When we start speaking to our mountains, we begin to exercise our God-given authority and power.
Let us follow Jesus' model of prayer and release the power Christ has placed within us.
Blessings,
