Matthew 3:10 NKJV

And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Matthew 3:10 NKJV

John the Baptist spoke to the religious leaders who trust their lineage, their forefathers and their traditions rather than God.

They did not come to repent, to turn to God but to add another qualification to their heritage.

John the Baptist said that the ax is already laid at the roots, not the stump, the branch but at the roots. Symbolically speaking, the new is going to be established, and the old has to be completely gone.

There is only one that is good, only one that is pure and holy and that is Almighty God, three in One.

These good fruits are not from our talents, abilities or the carnal self but it is the fruit that we bear through grace given by Christ our Lord.

Today many want to prove themselves who they are by emphasising their achievements and their connections.

They brag about their denomination, institutions and their church instead of what Christ has done.

The moment Christ said it is finished, the ax has been laid and the old has been done away. Behold the new has come and to those who look onto Christ, there will be springing forth of glorious things.

Let us not boast of what we have achieved. Instead, we boast in Christ and preach the kingdom of God.

Blessings
